The Pacific Spine and Pain Society (PSPS) invites investigators, clinicians, fellows, and residents to submit original research abstracts for consideration at the 2026 PSPS Annual Conference.
Submitted abstracts should represent scientifically rigorous, original research relevant to interventional pain management, spine care, surgery, or related disciplines. PSPS is committed to showcasing high-quality research that advances clinical knowledge and patient care.

Scientific Integrity & Review Process
PSPS places a strong emphasis on scientific merit, objectivity, and transparency in the abstract selection process.
- All abstracts will be independently reviewed by three (3) non-conflicted reviewers
- Reviewers are selected based on subject-matter expertise and absence of financial or professional conflicts
- Abstracts are evaluated solely on scientific quality and relevance, not industry involvement or sponsorship
Award selections are based on scientific excellence — not sponsor affiliation.
Evaluation Criteria
Each abstract will be scored using the following criteria (1 = least favorable, 5 = most favorable):
- Originality of the research
- Appropriateness of methodological approach
- Strength and validity of conclusions relative to results
- Relevance and appropriateness for presentation at PSPS
Abstract Categories & Awards
Three abstract award recipients will be selected in the following categories:
- Resident/Fellow Research
- Non–Industry-Sponsored Research
- Industry-Sponsored Research
Each award recipient will receive:
- Two (2) nights hotel accommodations at the conference venue
- $500 travel stipend
Additional high-scoring abstracts may be selected for oral or poster presentation during the conference.
Submission Guidelines
- Abstracts must represent original work
- Research should not have been previously presented at another national meeting
- Submission details, deadlines, and formatting requirements will be provided on the PSPS abstract submission portal
Accepted abstracts will be featured as part of the PSPS 2026 scientific program, offering presenters the opportunity to engage with leaders in pain and spine medicine.
